Here and there I find myself daydreaming about having the time, or energy, or discipline to regularly spend more time with my mother. Wake up earlier to have coffee at her house in the morning once a week, or take an art class together like we did years ago.
If you've been feeling the same, you and your mama should mark your calendars for the 31st of May and make some time to work with your hands, together. The date is technically after Mother's Day, but I think it's a perfect excuse to stretch a celebration. Those without moms can bring another parent, a sibling, a best friend, a date, or come alone! You don't have to bring Mama to enjoy the art of Macrame!
During the class we'll learn to tie several fundamental macrame knots to construct a unique piece of fiber art. Follow the pattern exactly, or make it your own with varied spacing, extra knots, or different lengths of fringe.
This month Marti Woolford of Marti Makes will lead us through the process of making a wall hanging designed with a pocket to hold a 4" potted plant. Price of class includes instruction and all materials, including a pot and plant!
